Sunshine Lunchbox

2nd Quarter Junior Year Project | 2019

Lunchbox Design Project

Sunshine Lunchbox takes into account the special needs of visually impaired children and their parents while providing an entertaining experience for the user. The lunchbox neatly folds out into a tray containing containers with hinged lids; this reduces the amount of loose parts that children could lose. The containers snap in and out of the tray, and can be removed by parents for washing.

The exterior of the lunchbox comes in a bright yellow color, which makes the lunchbox distinct not only to the user but to others, who could retrieve it should it get lost. The yellow color also signifies optimism and happiness, enlivening the user throughout their daily challenges. The exterior features concave and convex surfacing that children can feel with their fingers in order to provide them an entertaining tactile experience to substitute for their compromised vision.
